Shining a light on what’s often kept in the dark, one episode at a time.

Once I was able to move in the world again, I started searching for answers as to why it happened. Every turn I took led me back to the same place of ‘poor mental health’, and the stigma around that makes people feel they cannot talk about the struggles they may be facing. In the first episode of the mentally healthy show I share my journey to losing Jerome and exactly how I came to be here today.
the mentally healthy show started as one man’s attempt to take the stigma out of talking about mental health. It’s grown into something bigger — a weekly space where people share the stories they’d normally keep to themselves, so that someone listening feels a little less alone.
Our Mission
- Remove the taboo of talking about mental health.
- Talking about your mental health is not a sign of weakness.
- Raise awareness about mental health and suicide.
- Let people know that whatever they are going through they are not alone, and they will come through it.
Meet Willie
Willie Williams is a property professional by trade — but a mental health advocate by calling. After losing his son in 2019, he set out to understand why conversations about mental health and suicide are still so hard to have, and built the mentally healthy show as his answer: a place to shine a light on what’s often left in the dark, one episode at a time.
He hosts every episode with the same goal — to make it just a little easier for the next person to speak up.
Three fun facts about Willie Williams
- I’ve done a fire walk, and didn’t burn my feet.
- I was my sister’s 13th birthday present — I was born on her birthday.
- I used to weigh 22 stone (308lbs).
